Love the Children Painting by Becky Steele

This very special piece is 40″ x 30″ acrylic and acrylic skin on gallery wrapped canvas and  was valued at $2108.00 by an area gallery.

Becky shared her experience while creating this painting with us:

“This painting is very close to my heart. I began painting this when I heard about the first earthquake in Nepal. It hit very close to the remote region I traveled in with One World-One Heart Foundation a few years ago. During that trip, I met and played with many of the families in this area. The news was reporting that all of the villages in this area (Langtang) were demolished, not from the earthquakes, but from the avalanches that followed. I was so devastated. I decided to offer a painting up to them all in love.

I used a photo I had of the children playing with us that day and started with hearts for each one and then wrote loving words around them and for each of them.

The painting evolved from there. About mid-way through the painting, I had a dream and heard the children were all okay. In the dream, I saw the finished painting and it showed the children as being universal. I made these changes the next day.

The families in Nepal continue to struggle and are facing many more issues than just the two earthquakes and continuing avalanches. They desperately need help to re-build their lives and communities. I was able to trek with the two amazing woman who are the founders of One World One Heart Foundation and saw how much they do and how loved and respected they are in these remote villages they have helped and continue to serve. I will be donating 100% of the proceeds of this painting to www.OneWorldOneHeart.org to help them continue their work in the Langtang regions of Nepal.”

More About the Salmon River Rafting Trip

The Salmon River Rafting Company has kindly donated a “Lodge Accommodation” float trip for two on the Salmon River to help One World-One Heart Foundation raise money for Earthquake Relief in Nepal as well as our Annual Medical Camps.  The winner can enjoy this float trip during any regularly scheduled rafting trip of the 2016 season.

This all inclusive river trip package includes –

Round trip air taxi from Boise, Idaho to Salmon.

Accommodations on the first and sixth nights in Salmon at the Stage Coach Inn and four nights in lodges along the river.

Restaurant dinners and breakfasts before and after the river trip.

Waterproof personal gear bag.

All river beverages (except hard liquor)

Jet boat return upstream on last river day or scenic flight out of the canyon depending on river levels.

The winner of the raffle will be responsible for transportation to and from Boisie, Idaho along with all gratuities.
